Decommissioning of former sodium dichromate plant, Texas, USA
The plant, which was built in the 1980’s, contained a number of raw and finished chemicals within the tanks, vessels, kilns and pipework, as well as several LIVE electrical and mechanical equipment that fed other parts of the site.
The decommissioning phase comprised of the following activities:
- removal of hazardous and asbestos containing materials
- decontamination of residual chemicals
- isolations and disconnections of all services
- re-routing of LIVE services
- No interference with existing operational facilities
